I believe when someone has been given the blessings and opportunities in life that I have, there is a duty to give back, to leave the place better than when you found it, to make a difference in the lives of others, and that’s what I want to do…make a difference. I’m familiar with the hardships and sacrifices faced by residents of Northeast Arkansas, and I believe that I can put my experience to work as State Representative to improve the lives of our citizens.
Though Greene County is fortunate to have excellent schools, we must find ways to keep our students from dropping out. Through investing in trade and vocational schools in addition to higher education, we give our students every opportunity to live a prosperous life. When our students graduate, we want them to earn better wages and compete for higher paying jobs.
Crime is one of the major factors causing the breakdown of our traditional family. The manufacture and distribution of crystal methamphetamine is the primary culprit. When people become addicted to meth, they lose interest in their families, children, job, the law, and everything else that holds our society intact. We must create new ways to fight this problem.
Job creation and a sound economy are one of the most important concerns of all citizens. The key to a healthy economy and one friendly to job creation is diversity. We need to focus resources on many different economic sectors, including agriculture, medical professions, small business, manufacturing and entrepreneurship to create a job-friendly community.
Issue: Balanced Budget
Our leaders have worked to provide for our people and balance our state budget at the same time. I'm ready to make the tough choices to ensure we continue living within our means.
